Massive support for ‘Disney Experience’
Several children accompanied by their parents flooded the compound of the H. Lavity Stoutt Community College on Sunday to live the “Disney Experience with a Twist”.
The screen play that took place inside Eileen L. Parsons Auditorium involved character adaptations from several popular Disney movies, including The Lion King.
The show also carried an impressive musical flair with performances by a number of local singers.
The crowd turn-out at the first-time event caught organizers by surprise, jolting them to already start preparations for next year.
“We were overwhelmed; we didn’t know what to expect because, up until (last) Thursday, the ticket sale was a little slow. The turn-out was actually pleasantly surprising,” said Portia Harrigan, director of the eCamps Disney organizing committee.
She continued: “It was our first presentation, and we are always planning very far ahead. So, we are indeed already in the conceptual stage for next year.”
Still on the overwhelming support, Harrigan told BVI News Online that her team is likely to extend the event to two days in order to accommodate the number of people who have been showing an interest.
