Three Dimensional Work

STUDENT TRAINING MODULES | Monday through Thursday 4:00pm to 5:30pm

WEEK ONE: FIGURE CASTING
During these sessions plaster bandages are used to create simple molds. The molds are then filled with plaster of paris. Finally the subject is removed from the mold, cleaned and painted. Time permitting we will venture into life casting as well as figure casting.

WEEK TWO: TIRE / RUBBER SCULPTING INTO FUNCTIONAL ART
During these sessions inner tubes and tires will be used to create functional works of art. These works will include bags of various sizes as well as outdoor furniture.

WEEK TWO SESSION A: PAPER MACHE WITH QUILLING
During these sessions newspaper is transformed into decorative bowls, jewelry and décor (decorative masks and other accents.) These pieces will be decorated with paints and textured using a technique called quilling.

Still Life Drawing

• Principles of Sketching (Basic Three Dimensional Forms {circles, cylinders, cubes, cones})
• Introduction to Value (Shading Techniques)
• Still Life Drawing (Three Objects)

Collages

• Introduction to Texture (Visual and Tactile Texture)
• Creating collage images (Seascapes, Animals, Landscapes, Faces)

Painting

• Introduction to Color Schemes (Primary, Secondary, and Tertiary Colors; Color Wheel)
• Introduction to Value in Painting (Tints, Tones, and Shades)
• Abstract or Realism Painting

Photography

• Composition of a Photograph
• Street Photography
• Nature Photography

"Persons may attend a minimum of two classes per week in order to have pieces completed for the end of the session"
